The Crafoord Prize in Biosciences is awarded to scientists in biosciences, with special emphasis on ecology. The prize is awarded to scientist(s) who have fundamentally increased our understanding of the relationship between organisms and their environment in time and space. This implies that accomplishments also in other fields of biology than ecology can be rewarded.
